讲座摘要

The National Institute for Space Research (INPE) is advancing research in heliophysics and space weather through coordinated national and international initiatives. This presentation highlights current research frontiers and opportunities for cooperation with China under frameworks such as the China-Brazil Joint Laboratory for Space Weather(CBJLSW) and the International Meridian Circle Program(IMCP). It will outline scientific proposals for joint development of space-based payloads and ground-basednetworks, including future mission concepts like the CBERS-5 secondary payload for space-weather monitoring. The talk will also present doctoral research projects at INPE aligned with postdoctoral fellowship opportunities in China, as well as Brazilian scholarship programs supporting international Master′s and PhD students. These initiatives strengthen collaborative capacity building and foster innovation toward a shared vision of global cooperation in space science and space-weather services.

嘉宾介绍

Dr.Joaquim Eduardo Rezende Costa is a Senior Research Fellow III, faculty member and head of the Solar Physics research line at INPE's Astrophysics Division, concurrently leading its Space Weather Division (DICEP)and the Embrace program. He also serves as the Brazilian-appointed member to both the WMO's Expert Team for Space Weather(ET-SWx) and the ISES's Brazilian Regional Warning Center, while also holding the position of Vice-Chair for the COSPAR Panel on Space Weather(2021-2027) and the ET-SWx. His heliophysics work spans solar flare modeling, solar quiescent atmosphere,radio astronomy instrumentation, and space weather prediction.
